St. Patrick's Heart
By Laurain Crochet, St. Patrick's DayHello!! Welcome to Laura’s Art Design.
St. Patrick’s Day is coming, and it’s time to have some fun crocheting!! So here you will find the pattern to make some cute St. Patrick’s Day hearts.
Let’s start… you will need:
- 100% Cotton yarn, green, yellow and black. I used the LILY SUGAR’N CREAM brand.
- Hook or crochet of 3 or 3.5 mm.
- Sewing needle.
- Scissors
Abbreviations:
- mr – magic ring
- ch – chain
- sc – single crochet
- inc – increase
- dec – decrease
- sl st – slip stitch
Let’s start!!
Green yarn
- 1. Let’s begin with a magic ring and 6 single crochet. (6)
- 2. 6 inc (12)
- 3. (1 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (18)
- 4. 18 sc (18)
- 5. 18 xc (18)
Make two of this. Cut the yarn on the first one.
- 6. Unite both parts. In the second part do not cut the thread, make 9 sc and then continue in the first part making the 18 stitches, then finish the 9 stitches of the second part. In total there will be 36 points. With the help of the needle, sew the space in the middle.
- 7. 36 sc (36)
- 8. (4 sc, 1 dec) x 6 (30)
Change to black yarn
Note: When you change colors, the last sc of one color has to be finished with the other color.
- 9. 30 sc (30)
- 10. (3 sc, 1 dec) x 6 (24)
- 11. 24 sc (24)
Change to green yarn
- 12. (2 sc, 1 dec) x 6 (18)
- 13. 18 sc (18)
Make the yellow line. The yellow line is made with slip stitches. Make a square with yellow yarn. At the end cut the yarn and with the sewing needle take the yarn to the back, as shown on the picture and tie a knot.
Stuff the heart
- 14. (1 sc, 1 dec) x 6 (12)
- 15. 12 sc (12)
- 16. 6 dec (6)
Using the yarn needle, weave the yarn tail through the last 6 sts and pull the hole closed tightly. Hide the end of the yarn inside.
I hope you have fun with this St. Patrick’s heart!!
