My Story
Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Laura. I was born in Mexico and I’m very happy that you visit me and I hope you find something you like on this site.
I am a marketer and I love design, photography, advertising and art.
My grandmother (my mother’s mother) had a clothing factory, so my mother and her siblings grew up surrounded by fabrics, knitting, crocheting and macramé made by my grandmother, an artisan and enterprising woman who did all this at a time when it was not easy for a woman. I feel very blessed and fortunate to have inherited these talents from her. All my aunts can knit, crochet, sew, draw and paint, many arts, and my mother is also very artistic, but she chose music. She is a very well known music teacher in my hometown of León, Mexico.
I arrived in Canada in July 2020, yes pandemic. It was hard, we arrived and they locked us in, so nowhere to go, nothing to do… and that’s when this beautiful journey began. I started crocheting because now I had time, didn’t I, and I went crazy and made lots of things. I found a punch needle in a yarn shop and remembered I used to do this as a child, I couldn’t resist, so I bought it and started making wall hangings with punch needles.
I started teaching crochet, macramé and punching classes and I had a really good time! My students were really happy and learning a lot, so I decided to expand and start a YouTube channel. You can find all kinds of tutorials there. If you want to learn how to crochet or any of the other crafts I love, I will do my best to give you different projects, from the easiest to the most advanced, so you can immerse yourself in this beautiful world, just like I did, and discover how rewarding and self-motivating it is.
In general, I believe that making things with your hands and completing projects brings indescribable satisfaction. You develop your creativity, you relax, you have fun and you feel proud of your achievements. So cheer up!
